The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.

Vote YES on 3!
On November 4, 2008, Massachusetts voters will be asked to vote to end greyhound racing in their state. As of 2002, there have been 800 reported injuries at the dog tracks in Massachusetts; a dog is injured every 3-4 days. Many of these injuries are broken bones and result in the euthanization of these dogs because they are determined to no longer be fit for racing. The life of an average race dog is one of confinement. Dogs are kept in stacked kennels in which they can neither stand nor turn around for 20 or more hours a day. It is time to end this cruelty. Please help put a stop to the greyhound racing industry in Massachusetts this election day. Vote YES on ballot question 3 and protect the lives and well being of hundreds of greyhounds at the tracks in Massachusetts.

This is an issue dear to Bella's heart as her good buddies Star and Ben Murphy are former track dogs. For that reason we asked their human Mrs. Anne Murphy to be our guest writer for this post.
